Getting an xbox but have no idea what im doing lol?
im getting an xbox in about a week, my questions are
1) how do i go about getting xbox live? or online connection or w.e? (detailed if you can please)
2) do i HAVE to by a hard drive or can i just play games with what the console comes with? (im getting call of duty mwf 2 %26amp; w@w)

ok I been trying to figure this out for a doy now. but couldn't figure it out. I have fable to as you can see from the question. but how do you play online there is no option to play online. i called xbox(microsoft) but they didn't know either. Then in the game you can see orbs floating around that you can interact with (invite to game, give gift, chat).

I've a long time online gamer and a huge fan of the Halo series. The online experience just isn鈥檛 the same without the mic as I鈥檓 sure most of you would agree. Believe me I love trash talking as much as the next guy. I have no problem with the use of profanity. On the other hand, the unnecessary use of racism is beginning to wear on me. I am aware that Xbox Live has a feedback system designed to ban players who get reported on multiple occasions but it seems almost entirely ineffective. I just wanted to get the word out there that there are some of us who take offense to racial and ethnic slurs. I鈥檓 curious to hear how you feel about this issue, or for some of you, this non-issue. Personally I don't join game chat, I stay in party chat, it causes too many problems to join game chat and really you can't reason with the level of stupidity you get on xbox live

One reason I don't like going on is because often live gamers do not recognise my accent...apparently morons can't tell an Irish accent... And make stupid remarks

The most common thing I hear is one person yelling at another person, telling them that they are a dirty n***** just because that person kills them a lot. While I haven't been seeing much of it lately, I have no doubt that it is still out there and I believe that stronger rules need to be enforced regarding racism, profanity, etc.

Questions about the Xbox 360 Headset.?
I been playing the Xbox 360 online alot of times, and it comes to my attention that my speakers on my headset doesn't work, and now i have to use the TV Speakers just for it to work since the speakers on my headphones doesn't work. I keep on unpluging it and pluging it and still has problems. I go to the options menu and still has problems. Turn the volume up from my headset and problems still occur. Flashing the Dvd drive of my Xbox 360?
Well the cd/dvd drive of my Xbox 360 crapped out and instead of sending it in for 150 bucks to repair, I plan on just spending 25 bucks and getting a new dvd drive for it. I already got it on the way (the new benq drive) which is the exact same as mine now, but I was wondering, are there any good in-depth tutorials on flashing a drive to ready it for your xbox 360 online? and if so can you provide links?
I could just switch out the circuit boards underneath, But I really don't feeling like doin alla that, so if anyone can help me out would appreciate it.

Ok, so Monday is my birthday, and I know my parents haven't gotten me anything, because all I told them I want is an Xbox live subscription, and they don't want to get it for me. However, they're getting desperate, and my mom said she'd ';consider'; it with my dad, which pretty much means she'll talk to him about it, he'll say no, I'll argue, and he'll get tired of fighting and say fine. My question is, how can I convince my mom that Xbox live isn't a bad idea? She is convinced that if I go on it people will swear at me, and that will somehow effect me... I'm very, very, VERY confused by her arguement, and more by my dad's who says ';he hates online gaming.'; (He paid for my brother's runescape for 2 years. Wt. f??';

Online is more that chatting. It lets you play games in a different, funner way with people from all over. I love my xbox live. Yes there are rude people, but the majority of people are laid back. Try telling them it's not about the people you will meet, it is about the games you can play and the different way you can play them. It's like trying to play Monopoly alone... thats no fun you need other people.
Plus you will be interacting with other people and being social, instead of being in your room alone. Thats always nice. I mean your parents dont want you to turn into an anti-social hermet right??

Xbox live is pretty fun and you should tell them that certain games are only fun if you have xbox live or else it was a waste off $50+ because the multiplayer can be better then single player which in some cases like Halo 3 in my opinion is an ok campaign but the multiplayer is the reason why i got it. But other cases like GTA IV the singleplayer is fun but the multiplayer is not what you would expect from rockstar.To persuade them to get you the full year, this is what you tell them.

3. You can mute people in the game so you dont hear the swearing.

I've been playing online and leveling up. I have reached level 70 and the next level (71) is Prestige. When I go to the barracks to check my progress it says that I need 0 Exp to get to the next level. No matter how many times I play and win and restart the system I never get up to level 71 (Prestige). I usually gain a few thousand points of Exp but haven't leveled up even though it says 0 Exp required for next level. What is wrong?What is wrong with the game? Ok so i got an xbox 360, hard drive, landlords wi-fi internet (They live next door if that helps and very strong connection), SCHOOL Laptop, an ethernet chord. What else would i need to get online with my xbox 360 and i don't think the school laptop will allow me to hook up with my 360? Please Answer!!!PLZ tell me how i could get internet for xbox 360!!!?

Hey guys Im cheap lol so i don't have a 360 and I haven't really played alot of games lately. But nwow I wanna get back into games during my spare time. I have an xbox original with games like halo 2, halo, and racing games. I just went out to wal amrt and bought a one year xbox live card for 70 bucks(plus tax) and I want to know how to hook up my xbox original to xbox live. Because I don'tknow where I can type in the code. I have a dial up internet, even though it is dial up, it is fast. I went out to EB games and bought a 40$ xbox headset. I am sorry to say this but you need DSL or Cable. The Xbox Live service requires there to be a high speed internet access and you are currently on dial-up. There is a hack to use dial-up for the Xbox, but your online experience will become so upsetting that it is not worth it. Finally, (no offense) you have spent $165, which you could have used to get a new or used Xbox 360.
The price of cheap DSL is $17.99 therefore it shouldn't be a problem to acquire unless you are living on an extreme budget. I think you should upgrade,because without doing so your gaming experience will fall really short.

How do I get NAT to open with FiOS Actiontec router?
I am trying to get my NAT from moderate to open using the FiOS Actiontec M1424WR router. I'm trying to do this so I can better my Xbox 360 online gaming experience.

I have been experiencing problems with Halo 3 error messages refer to NAT settings. I have had trouble in matchmaking and joining friends. Some search engines refer to allowing the xbox to be a DMZ host. I have not tried this yet, but it seems logical. Here's what they are saying.
On a computer, open IE and type 192.168.1.1 into address bar type admin/password or admin/password1 for username and password (whichever one works)
Once in the router config, go to firewall settings and then go to DMZ host. Put a check box into the DMZ host and above that type in the IP address of your Xbox which will be 192.168.1.X You will need to find the exact IP under the network settings of your Xbox. After typing that IP in, click apply and your problem will be resolved.
In my case the Verizon Router Mega Control Panel says the the xbox 360's address is 198.168.1.4. I have confirmed this in xbox dashboard. I play on the xbox online on mw2 and considering I've not had any Call of Duty games before, and I've only had MW2 for little over 4 weeks, I think that I'm average.

They seem to think I'm pretty bad but to be honest I'm happy with 1.23 considering.

your doing okay you have more kills than deaths and i im always negaitveAm I good at Modern Warfare 2?
If you base skill on kd, then you're not a pro. Pros with that many kills are above 1.5.
But if you actually base your skill on what you do, then you'd be a pro if you're able to react to rushers befoe they kill you and be able to rush and react so well you kill campers b4 they kill u

I don't have to camp out for my kills and I can still go positive when I am forcefully going after objectives. If your friends think they are so much better than you with such a slim margin of being more positive in the K/D area then they are probably douche bags.

Getting my Vista Laptop on Wireless Internet?
I have a Zoom AP+4 wireless router which is connected from my modem, the Ethernet cable is connected into the WAN port on the router and there is another Ethernet cable running from the LAN 1 port to the back of my desktop computer, im also using a power line Ethernet adapter (so i can play the xbox online in my room via the adapter) where its connected via an Ethernet cable running from the LAN 2 port on my router
the only problem is when i have the laptop connected via wireless, i can connect to the router without any hassle but when i open the network sharing center it says i have no connection to the internet and when i diagnose the problem it says that it cannot communicate with the microsoft site due to a dns error, does anybody know how to resolve this so i have the 3 simultaneous connections running at the same time ?Getting my Vista Laptop on Wireless Internet?

Your problem may be DHCP. On any network there should always only be one single DHCP server. If your modem has a DHCP server built in, and your wireless router also acts as a DHCP server, then you have two competing devices which want to serve IP addresses to the devices on your LAN.
Before I can help you any further, I would really need to understand what kind of modem this is and how it is plugged in to the router.

Heres the situation: I have a wireless G 4 port router from Belkin. After setting up everything, I noticed that internet browsing on my desktop computer was slow. So I used the router with my laptop, browsing was slow. Then I used my xbox 360 (eathernet cable was hooked directly to router) the games lagged and lost connection.
After throwing a fit (lol jk), I removed the router from my computer and inserted the wireless USB connector I baught a while ago (its exactly like the nintendo wifi usb connector but you can use any device with it). After setup, the USB worked great! it was like each user that connected to my USB device (which is attached to my main desktop computer) had their own personal internet connection.
But my problem is ill never get to use my xbox online because of the fact it dosent have wifi capablilities (which is why I baught the router)
Is there a way i can make my router more like my usb connector? Whats Spyware? and how do I get rid of it?Router Help?

If the problem persists after this, then you can assume that it is your internet connection.

';Network connections'; shows I have 3 connections.. Local Area Connection (which says ';Limited or No Connectivity'; and I believe is the connection for my xbox 360?).. How do I open my NAT for my Linksys WRT54G?
I have an Xbox 360 and i cant always hear everyone and can't join eyeryone's games online. I realised that it was to do with my NAT(Network Adress Translation i think) when i played Halo3 as this is the only game that tells people about it. So i then did the Xbox Live connection test and found out that the NAT was set to moderate. so i looked at the Linksys configuration but it is very confusing and i couldn't understand it at all. Port fowarding might have something to do with it im not sure. So does anyone know how i can open the NAT for the Linksys WRT54G for a better Xbox online experience without the annoying you cannot join this host or speak with this person etc.

Not sure about NAT, but if you are having problems you would want to find out what your xBox's local address is and port forward to it. It would have to be set up as a static address on the xbox ie 192.168.1.130

for 1 i tried gears 2 i tried halo2 3 i tried doom3 and cod2 i think its because for the live server my internet access isnt fast enough, so i was wondering if the ps3 would most likely be able to play because of its cheap multiple servers. So i got every thing i need 2 play on 360 but for 1 couldnt and only was able 2 download, 2 - it broke down not too long ago and seeing how microsoft is doing horably on its fixings, so just getting a ps3 most likely and later get my 360 fixed =)Cant play my xbox live games online, wondering if i vould on ps3?

Now that it is only $500 dollars, u can watch blu-ray movies, dvds, music, photos, and play online wirelessly or even by wire. really the ps3 doesnt need an hdtv but its better graphics. and to play online u can play for free and have no lagging whatsoever. ok very minimal lagging. and playing NBA, NFL, Call of Duty 3 (and 4 this fall), and most of the other games look cool and have really good graphics. and u can play more games. and the ps3 has its own charger. in my opinion, the PS3 is a better buy because it is good to go as u get the console. with the 360, u need to get chargers, and no paying for online gaming. so get a ps3! it has a better ending-up price than the 360 and even the wii.

Well i recently got an xbox 360 (holiday bundle) and for the first couple weeks it worked fine online and offline but when i play online and some times offline it freeze and i dont know how to fix it.. alot of people saying that it's my internet connection but i dont know has anyone else been having problems? it usually happens with the new game i got ';Left 4 Dead';My xbox 360 freeze online and offline?

alot of people laugh at my accent, i hate when i talk in class i hear giggling. even when i was playing online on xbox live and when i was talking the people found it funny that i sound stupid. when i talk it feels like i sound normal. this is what i did i recorded my voice and heard it. i really dont like the way i sound this is whats gonna make me quiet alot. i cant really get friends in school because of this becuase they always think im trying to be funny with the way i talk.How can i change my african accent?

Still, if you really want to change it, you can seek speech counseling. I don't know where you live, or I might be able to suggest a resource, but surely you can find someone nearby who can help train you to speak differently. You could check with clinics or hospitals or physicians in your area, and someone would be able to refer you to a speech therapist or trainer. If you live near a big city with a theater group, you might be able to find speech training there. Changing your whole manner of speech will be very difficult and very hard work, but if you really want to do that, it is possible. I personally would not do it. I live in the Midwest (northern Wisconsin) and would surely seem to have an accent if I moved to, say, Mississippi or Zimbabwe or Australia or Vermont or Ireland....
But if I had that accent, it would be just fine. Yes, some people would probably tease me about it, but I would not let it bother me. As said, that would be their weakness, not mine.

I do. Whenever I play Uno, i constantly get jeers of ';show me your ****';, ';show me your P****';. Then if I said no, guys will be like ';Oh, you're fat and ugly';, or ''You're a *****'; and they talked about mommas and boot you from the game.

How to connect with an AT&T wireless card to a xbox 360?
Has anyone ever connected to the xbox360 live using a AT%26amp;T wireless card. We live out in the woods, and we can not get anything else but dial up or this wireless card that I am using. On the side of a xbox360 has the perfect slot, or usb port that my wireless card fits perfect. The problem is, when we try to get online, the xbox says no conection/ but I know the card is working. Did you remember to take out the hard drive when you sent it back to Microsoft? And did you remember to put in your hard drive into your xbox? Ive had the same problem but what I do is i remove the hard drive and put it back in and it works. Just remember to turn on profile selection option. Make sure you tested your internet connection and to see if the wire is connected.

I meet a girl online, we were supposed to meet but I feel she is playing games, any advice?
Ok I meet a girl online playing xbox 360. We started off just playing games together then we started talking and finding out more about eachother. We realized we had alot in common and I actually was falling for her a bit. We talked almost everyday sometimes for hours. We decided that it was meant to be, given the awkward circumstances of how we met. She is all the way in england, im in the states. We made plans to be together and I was supposed to move out there and get a place with her. For months we planned this, all of a sudden 3 weeks before I move we get into a heated arguement because now she was telling me she doesnt want to do it anymore. I had done all this saving up, all this waiting up to this point and I was very upset. We didnt talk for an entire month, even though I messaged her the next day and told her I wanted to work things out she never answered back. Then she sends me an email telling me she doesnt think we can be because of the arguement and what was said. So she breaks up with me because of it, I pursue her and tell her how sorry I am in emails, messages, everything. She says ok we can work it out but we cant move together permanently yet but we can visit, and I agreed. 2 weeks later she sends me a message saying she is going to ireland for work, and doesnt feel the same about me anymore '; I loved you, I really did. Things just changed since the arguement we had and I cant get over it. I dont know what else to say. Good luck to you and hope everything works out.'; This came out of nowhere, for no reason. first of all 99% long distance love stories never work out..................She is not the only girl in this world mate......you would laugh in future that u seriously loved this girl.....don't try to contact her,she is gone away if she cares about you then she would come back give her some space..............

This situation is one of the unfortunate hazards of online relationships.
Personally I hope that this is the case as, in some ways, its preferable to thinking a gal simply opted to flip in the other direction %26amp; coldly give you the heave ho.

No, this is creepy. You met her online and then you guys decide to ';move in together';. She realizes this is a MISTAKE and that she doesn't KNOW YOU and tries to break it off and you won't let her. She has tried TWICE to get you to leave her completely alone and each time you keep morphing into some stalker who thinks you have a ';connection '; with someone you've never met and doesn't want a connection with you. She stayed offline for an entire MONTH, just to get back on and guess who's waiting....? You. Now she's telling you she's leaving the current country she's in...so you will stop messaging her and leave her alone and think she's moved off. Just take no for an answer and save some face, dude. This is getting really embarrassing on your part and she's going to think all American guys are crazy.
I have had the exact same thing happen to me. I chatted to a guy for four years, on yahoo, which is great, he is like my best friend, confidant all that. We finally arranged that we would meet. Three days before he is due to arrive, he goes dead quiet. I am wondering if he is ok, considering we have spoken for all those years without a day missing. (Meantime I might add, I dint think you are a loser for chatting to her, I have friends a life and a career,) but we just clicked. You know what i mean right.
Finally after three days he said he had broken his foot?? Well wouldn't he have told me straight away? of course he would have, so to this day I know he lied.
I decided to weigh it up and I have settled to the idea, that we will be nothing but internet mates, and very good ones at that. He listens to all my drivel every day, understands me, has great integrity in general, and I would be lost without him, but I do not need to meet him ever.
I have perspective on it now. He is my cyber mate and that is it. But it makes him not less valuable, just he fits into a certain slot in my very full life.
Why did he do it? only he knows, fear of meeting me, because he felt he was not good enough? fear of traveling to a different country, money issues? who knows, I will never know and it is one subject I have left behind, as we chat about so many other subject which are very important to me.
