Which next gen console do you prefer? discuss.?

alright people lets be professional about this. were gamers, not cavemen.





requirement #1: you must own all 3 next gen systems. (if you're a hatemonger i'm just going to ignore you, thus wasting one of you're daily answers for nothing)


requirement #2: you must list the pros and cons of all 3 systems.


bonus points: it would help if you've played all the systems online (xbox live, PSN, and whatever the hell its called on the wii)


i'll go first





XBOX 360


PROS: a wide variety of games, the controllers are comfortable in my hands and the xbox live interface is very easy to understand.....not so much now that they changed it but still easier then the ps3. the party system is top knotch


CONS: do i even have to say it? four words red. ring. of. death. and they break down constantly. i bought one when it first came out and i'm on my 6th xbox. and the wires used for the corded controllers and corded mic snap very easily (internally) so they don't work anymore fairly quickly. before i switched to wireless my controllers only lasted about 3 months mics lasted about 4.





PS3


PROS: arguably the best graphics.psn is free........ ya i got nothing other than those.


CONS:(brace yourself this may be a long ride)the controllers are to small for my hands thus causing my hands to cramp up after hours of gaming (why the hell didn't they stick with the prototype controller? sure it looked like a silver batarang but they were on the right track) the mic is almost impossible to install for a guy who has almost no technical no-how, the PSN dashboard is insanely frustrating. the mic sound Quality is terrible, the PSN party system is as flimsy as a wet paper towel (i get disconnected from my brother and friends constantly) and has about as many features as a dead battery (you can invite people.... thats it. no 'join game in session') and last but most important you need a credit card to by thing from the PSN store.





(i'm ******* 17 i don't have a credit card. and my parents credit is **** due the the economy.)





Wii


now... the wii is kinda.... complicated for me. i own one... but beside a couple of games (zelda and mario cart and resident evil) i really haven't found any other games that scream 'BUY ME! i'll be fun!!'


i really have nothing BAD to say about the wii but nothing good either.





thus my favorite system is the xbox 360.

Here's my opinion:





Good features of PS3:


-Greater and powerful hardware capabilities than Xbox 360


-Bluray drive to play bluray films


-Free online multiplayer


-Multimedia features


-Solid and stable hardware





Cons:


-Some PS3 games still have technical and glitch problems compared to Xbox 360 version due to some game developers lack of knowledge of the hardware


-Online services aren't great as Xbox live


-Fewer games than Xbox 360


-Great HD graphic and surround sound


-Some games required u to install part of the disc on the PS3 harddisk for reducing loading times.This is due to the mass capacity of bluray disc


-It was expensive before...but since PS3 slim arrives,they r nearly same prices





Good features of Xbox 360:


-Great Multiplayer experience with Xbox live


-Technical problems(RROD problem) r reduced due to newer motherboards


-Great variety of games with some exclusive like gears of war


-Some games r similar to PS3 version,but many game developers have a deep knowledge of the hardware,so the Xbox version they developed is slightly better...So less technical and glitch problems


-Great HD graphic and surround sound


-Multimedia support(can play almost all video format)


-Nearly same as PS3 hardware but slightly inferior


-It was cheaper than the PS3 before..but since PS3 slim arrives,they r nearly same prices





Cons:


-No bluray drive just DVD drive...but still works.


-Great online services required a low subscription fee


-Some occasional minor technical problems..but 90% works





Good features of Wii:


-It has amazing family games and some r very entertaining


-Some NGC exclusive games have been remaked for Wii version


-Sensor controllers is the future of gaming


-It's good 4 kids and the family


-It has a large game library


-The online multiplayer is free


-Different controllers r available 4 different games





Cons:


-The hardware isn't powerful as PS3 and Xbox 360


-It has many kiddish games


-The graphics can't be called as next-gen


-No bluray player





Bluray disc is a disc which is replacing the DVD disc cuz it has greater storage capacity.It's used for many purposes.Due to its large capacity,HD videos can be stored and so to give u HD visual.





Personally I choose Xbox 360 cuz I'm a fan of it...

My favourite console would be the PS3. It may be expensive, but its got some pretty nice games, and it's reliable, plays blu rays, and PSN is free.





XBOX: i've had 5 XBOXs and just gave up. (red ring of death) other than that it was awesome and had some sweet games.





Though my favourite gaming platform of all would be the PC.

BTW you don't need a credit card, you can buy a PSN card for cash at places like Wal-Mart and Gamestop...





I don't see how anyone can be comfterable with the 360 controller, it's big, heavy and overall cumbersome. Mic isn't hard to set up if you just follow the directions that come with it...





I wouldn't be caught dead with a 360... It's just a brick waiting to happen, and having to pay for online is total bullshit, even if you do get 'more' out of it... I don't really play with friends or anything, so the lack of PSN features doesn't bother me in the least, and really the only major diffrence between PSN and Xbox Live is the voice-mail like feature on the 360... Otherwise it's all pretty much the same.





I also have more problems with being disconnected by 360 then I do with PS3... Infact out of hundreds of hours of playtime on my PS3, I haven't lost connection once... If I get on my friends 360 (same internet connection, he brings his 360 here to play as he doesn't have internet) I get disconnected left and right.





I'm 24 years old, so it should be pretty self evident why I don't like Wii...
Okay, time for some detailed criticism. First off, I've had my Xbox 360 for about 7 months now, and not a single problem.





Secondly, My Wii is... well, just like you said, pretty boring. The best game I've ever played on it was more than likely ';Scarface: The World is Yours';.





Thirdly, I do not have a PS3... BUT I do understand and respect the people who play and make them, and the graphics are a bit more detailed than those of the 360.





Fourthly, Xbox LIVE is probably the best one. PSN is kind of the ';Linux of console internet services'; It's free, but it sucks. Wii is a good one because it has the internet browser. like PSN.
Well really this question is all about your Personal Opinion. Everyone has one. But you seem a bit harsh over the PS3, so i'll be a 'bit' harsh over the xbox, but everything i say is my PO.





I could pick out several things wrong with all consoles. I have all 3 of them, and i must play the PS3 the most really.





XBOX 360


Pros: Well... Is there any?? Maybe a few good games, but maybe im wrong? Oh god, im having trouble thinking of things lol. Ok, the only second thing i can think of is the mic quality is better.


Cons: Here i go... Disk tray... they are old and and cheapy. My xbox wouldnt open the tray when i wanted to open it. Batteries in a controller, annoying when they go flat, and then you have to buy ANOTHER accessory for the xbox to charge it up. Wireless, have to pay like £40 for a wireless adaptor, NOWAY!! Xbox live, why pay? Nothing different to PSN, so why be different? Tut tut, no Blu-Ray, what a shame. Basically, the xbox is all money. The new dashboard makes me laugh. Childish. And to join a party, you need GOLD, i mean what the hell!!! Have to pay to talk to your friends.





PS3:


Pros: Blu-Ray, dashboard is very easy to understand, Playstaion Home is Amazing, online is FREE as well as being wireless, controllers are the best, battery lasts forever, Great features when looking at photos. And Awesome games!! Overall its just a Powerful console!! Oh and Playstation Store has a far more range of things to buy!


Cons: Is there any? Please help me here... Apart from the mics there isnt any...





WII:


Pros: Just a completly different thing, instead of sitting you stand :P. Swinging around smashing things!! Its an enjoyable console for the family, thats it.


Cons: Dont think there is any, apart from i wish there dasboard was a bit better. =]





To me all consoles are consoles, they have there ups and downs, well some. And they are there to just have fun with when your bored or you want to own someone on Killzone 2! :P





Though, the PS3 takes the winner for me!!
