Is it my internet connection?

Lately, my internet has been all screwed up. While playing xbox online, i'm always getting kicked out of games or disconnected from xbox live. On my computer i'm constantly being disconnected from Windows Live Messenger, and also my calls on Skype are constantly being dropped. I wonder if all these things are possibly connected in a way. Why is it my internet connection is doing this, if it is the cause of this, and how can i fix it?

If it helps, connected to my router (Netgear wgr614 v7) are my computer connected with an ethernet cord, my xbox also connected by an ethernet cord, and my laptop connected wirelessly. Is it my internet connection?
This is what you need to do. Plug your computer directly into your modem, cutting out the router and see if the problems persist. If they do, the problem is most likely with your ISP and you should call them and complain. If the problems do not continue, your router is dying and you need to replace it. Hope this was of some help.Is it my internet connection?
It could be your internet, but I would reset the router and modem first. Reset them both at the same time. If you only reset one, they won't sync up like they are supposed to. Reset the router first, and while it's rebooting, reset the modem. If you are still having the same issues, then I would connect the computer directly to the modem, taking the router out of the equation, and see if it is still happening. If it is still happening, then the next step would be to release and renew the IP associated with the Modem, you can do this through the computer, by going to the command prompt. Start%26gt;run and then type cmd and press enter. This will bring up the command prompt and you will be able to release the IP by typing ipconfig /release then press enter. then renew it by typing ipconfig /renew then press enter. If the problem persists after this, then you can assume that it is your internet connection.
