Hi Tom,

Just had exact problem with my lads and unless you are wireless then you have to set x box up in the same room as your pc!

You just unplug your Ethernet cable and replace with your x box lead to go live but you have to set up hot mail accounts too!!!

Good Luck xXbox 360 online help?
I spent hours trying to figure this out when I got my xbox.

Basically, your Broadband box is connected to your PC somehow. So that's fine.

Now get an Ethernet cable and run it from the back of your Xbox all the way to the back of your computer.

So long as the Broadband is connected to your computer, the xbox 360 should work online once connected to the computer.

My source will help in much more detail.
You need to connect to your router/PC with a Ethernet cable or buy a wireless add-on for your Xbox.
OK Tom... no instructions?

Get your pc online and go to..

Follow the steps...thats just what I did...and it works...and I'm a girl...See you online!
First off, do you have a router? You will need a wireless router and a networking adapter.

You will need a secured network, so when you have a wireless networking adapter that is supported, you will need to have the WEP set.

When using a router you will need to have the Firewall Ports open.

UDP 88

UDP 3074

TCP 3074

Make sure that your dashboard settings are set to automatic, IP and DNS.

If you are using Cable, you should MAC spoof. Go to the computer, click on start and run, type in CMD, press enter, you will have a DOS prompt window pop up. Type in IPCONFIG/ALL and press enter, look for the physical address and write this down exactly as you see on the computer minus any hyphens or dashes, then go to the console.

Console. Network settings, edit settings, additional settings, advanced settings and Alternate MAC Address. input in the physical address you had obtained from the computer

*NOTE* The above for MAC spoofing only works if you are using cable.

If you are using DSL you will need to go to Network settings, Edit Settings, Additional Settings, and PPPoE, you will need to put in the Email Address and Password you had assigned to you when you orriginally signed up for internet service.
