I'm saving up for an Xbox 360 and it shouldn't take long to get so I have a few questions. I'm also getting a wireless router so, using explicit detail, how do you get an Xbox 360 online? Also, do you need a credit card? And finally, I have two big dogs (one of them is my avatar) so do I need to worry about them tripping over any cords when they run around and play? Thanks! How do you get online with Xbox 360?
First, it comes with a land adapter not a wireless adapter. As long as you have broadband it will work. In regards to the wires, it has two big wires, as long as its behind something, such as entertainment center, you shouldn't have any issues with your dogs. How do you get online with Xbox 360?
Once you have the xbox 360 and a wireless router, you need a wireless adaptor for the xbox360 which will cost about 60-80 dollars, OR the xbox comes with a wire for free that you can plug into your router and that wire is about 3 or 4 feet long.. once you get connected to the internet using the router, you need to make an Xbox live account..which is easy and yes you need a credit card and its about 5 dollars per month to go on live.. once you do that you can play online and talk to friends...If you don't want to pay, you can still talk to friends but you cannot connect to a game and actually play with other humans over the internet
If you have wirless internet, and a wireless adapter, just plug the adapter into the 360 and you can connect automaticlly. First, you will need to make an xbox live account. Xbox live silver is free, but you cant play games online....only chat and send messages. If you want to play, you need xbox live gold, its $8 a month if you pay by the month, or $50 for the whole year. You do not need a credit card, you can buy a live card at wal mart or any store like that. As for your dogs, if you make sure the cords staty on the ground they should just walk right over it, doesnt matter if they step on it really. But you may want to keep them aways because if they jerk the xbox(even a little bit) the disk in there will be scratched to hell
You can buy a wireless card for your x box or you can run an Ethernet patch cord from the back of your router to the Ethernet port on the back of your console. Another solution, if you don't want to run any wires is what's called power line Ethernet adapter that you can get a your local retail store. You don't need a credit card if you don't wanna access premium content. And yes, watch your dogs because they will definitely trip over the cords.
1. get the play and charge kit with the wireless controller
2. get a 6 month or 12 month XBOX live card when you get the 360
3. You'll need the wireless component for 360 unless you use the wire to connect to the router (which I do, wireless makes it slower)
4. if you use the wireless controller you wont have to worry about dogs.
you can use an ethernet cable or a specialised xbox 360 wireless connecty thing, then you make your gamertag using the free month of xbox live you get when you go into xbox live on your xbox dashboard, you don't need a credit card you can buy the prepaid subscription cards you can buy in any video game shop
Use Microsoft Xbox How To: to learn how to connect your Xbox correctly. :] They go into good detail.

^^There are several guides there to help you through.
You need a credit card to buy Xbox LIVE directly from the Xbox Marketplace, but you can also buy Xbox LIVE in stores also.(Like Wal-Mart, GameStop, etc.) The prices for Xbox LIVE is as followed(it's worth it depending on the game)
1 month - $7.99 (When you get an Xbox, usually they give you a month of Xbox LIVE to try it out.)
3 Months - $19.99
12 Months - $49.99 (If you buy in a store, you usually get 1 month free.)
If your Xbox is in the middle of the floor, they could trip on them. As long as the wires are going along a wall or edge, they'll probably be fine. The Xbox 360 has only around 3 or 4 heavy wires, I think. They won't be able to break them by catching their paw on it, only if they chew it up. o.0
Get the wireless controller. They're only $10 more, work fine, and a lot easier.
getting your xbox online i don't know my bro did it for me.
no u don't need a credit card
no u don't need to worry just as long as the cords aren't in the way trust me i have a big dog and she doesn't trip over the cords
Well, if your TV, router and Xbox are next to the wall, you wont be tripping over anything. You might need a computer there though. You dont need a credit card but you need access to Xbox Live so you need a card with a code on the back. It will say Xbox live Gold or Silver. Type in that code when your internet is up and have fun!
hey mate
Save up a bit longer and get a ps3 its well worth the money, it can play blueray, its free online, and the graphics is far better.
trust me on this one
you by like this card thing at any electronic store and then like pin it in your xbox or something and then you get online..like there is a year one and like a 3 month one..that I know of
Don't worry about your dogs tripping over the cords, the wires can withstand that.
u can subscribe to xbox live if u want
or to multiplay buy a router
connect to the modem
